theJobBrowser ("we", "us") helps you discover software engineering jobs and optionally receive weekly job alerts via email. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

• Account/Auth (optional): If you sign in via email, we process your email address solely to authenticate you.
• Email Alerts (optional): Name, email address, and your selected technologies and locations so we can generate and deliver weekly job alert emails.
• Product Analytics: We use analytics tools to understand aggregate usage. These tools may collect standard request metadata and anonymized usage metrics.
• Server & Database: We store job and company data, and your alert preferences in our database.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide core features of the service: job discovery, filtering, and listings.
• Send weekly job alerts to users who opted in and confirmed their email.
• Maintain security and reliability of the platform.
• Measure and improve the experience using privacy-conscious analytics.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help operate the site:

• Resend for transactional emails (confirmation, alerts).
• Neon (Postgres) for database storage of alerts and jobs.
• Vercel for hosting, analytics, and performance monitoring.
• OpenAI/Vercel AI SDK to power AI search features.

Each provider processes data in line with their own privacy policies.

Data Retention

• Active alerts: We retain your alert data while your alert is active.
• Unsubscribed alerts: If you unsubscribe, we stop sending emails and remove or anonymize your alert data within a reasonable period.
• Other data: Analytics and server logs may be retained for a limited time to ensure security and site performance.

Your Choices

• Unsubscribe: Every alert email contains an unsubscribe link that immediately opts you out.
• Access/Deletion: You can request access to or deletion of your alert data by contacting us at the email below. Provide the email address used for your alerts.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit and at rest. No system can be 100% secure, we continuously monitor and improve our safeguards.

Children

theJobBrowser is intended for individuals aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.
